Got to love the City of London on a sunny day, all the light bouncing around off the windows makes for awesome photos!
This was first time at The Anthologist, as London wedding venues go it’s super cool, and a nice short walk from St Vedast where Emma and Michael said their vows. Their idea to be accompanied/pursued by a brass band through the streets of London was a great touch, and put smiles on the faces of everyone they passed!
I love the natural shots I can get when couples and their guests are able to walk between venues.
I’m not one for stealing the couple away for ages for photos, but couldn’t resist a quick walk around the block between courses to make the most of the gorgeous light!

Wayyy down south for this beaut of a wedding, was worth the trip and then some.
Anyone else find Chichester weirdly difficult to say?!
Pretty bloody special when the man who marries you is your grandad right? Amy always knew she wanted him to and he most certainly did not disappoint!
While exhibiting at the Un-Wedding Show in Leeds I was lucky enough to meet Claudia from Out of the Bloom and Katey from Ghost Orchid Bride we knew immediately that we had to plan an inspiration shoot together!
Called in my go-to A Team of Danni Alexandra on Make Up and Leela on Having a Nice Face and we were good to go!
Back to the gorgeous Mowbray again for Chelsea & Jonny’s wedding, what a brilliant venue it is! Monday Night Reruns played a blinding set!
I bloody love a Sheffield wedding, one because Sheffield is ace, and more importantly it’s an absolute treasure trove of talented and lovely wedding suppliers! Any day spent working with:
Swallows and Damsons Florist, Kate Beaumont Wedding Gowns, Helen Sutcliffe Hair, Amanda Humphreys MUA and Louisa from Starr Gazing Ceremonies is a very good day indeed!
There is no better way to enjoy your photos than a proper album. Period.
Hand bound in Yorkshire , printed a top quality matte fine art paper, lay-flat pages meaning there is no interruption of images spanning the centre fold.
It’s where photos are supposed to live.

Working with Amy George Makeup Artist, Alice Lindsay, River and Rose and the unstoppable force that is The Wedding Enthusiast (aka Ellie) on this Baz Luhrmann inspired epic shoot was a total dream!
Being asked by other photographers to shoot them and their families is always pretty special. I went to hang out in Corby with Hannah and her incredible girls and it was perfect.
Flying back from Qatar to Yorkshire to get married at Alex’s family home surrounded by their loved ones, Alex & Toyan’s was certainly a wedding to remember! Beautiful people who *seriously* know how to dress, heaps of emotion, and the mother of all parties – inevitable when a DJ marries an artist. All in all it was a joy to photograph!
Back over to Sheffield for another beautiful wedding at the Wood Lane Countryside Centre, always a treat to start the morning with the ladies from Jenn Edwards & Co! The bagpiper Aenea & Pete had hired to soundtrack their walk down the aisle had been given the wrong time, so appeared halfway through the ceremony and just went for it full blast, which had the whole room in stitches!

A proper Yorkshire festival wedding with proper Yorkshire weather!
Having seen Luke DJing around various clubs in Leeds I knew this one was going to end in an epic party, but honestly the whole day was just incredible from start to finish! The Yorkshire Dales are as beautiful a place as you’ll find in the country, or anywhere else, a perfect setting for the day. Check out the groom’s arrival, and the bridesmaids’! The weather looked as though it was going to hold off just long enough for the outdoor ceremony so it got underway, with the wonderful Luisa Starr leading the ceremony. They got about halfway through an incredibly emotional (and hilarious) ceremony when the heavens opened, and opened hard! The sprint for the marquee was brilliant, and things soon continued, even more emotionally.
Well, after the longest few weeks keeping it a secret, I’m now finally allowed to tell the world I’ve been named one of Rangefinder Magazine’s 30 Rising Stars of wedding photography! Rangefinder is a New York based print magazine read by photographers all over the world. It’s all a bit surreal to be honest, I never usually enter competitions, but having been nominated by a previous winner (thanks Marianne!) I thought I’d better pull together a few of my favourite photos and send them off. Certainly wasn’t expecting to be listed, reading through the previous years winners is pretty mind-blowing, so many of my super talented friends from all over the world!I’ve never hidden the fact that I fell into wedding photography entirely by accident, so it’s nice to have some validation that I’ve somehow ended up doing something I’m pretty good at! It’s very easy as a wedding photographer and creative to be hard on yourself, so this is a great boost at the end of a very busy year.Rangefinder’s 30 Rising Stars is unique in being peer nominated and judged by a panel of wedding photography industry experts.Obviously the most important feedback is the thanks I get from the couples who’s weddings I get to shoot, but it’s really great to be acknowledged by my peers!Without going all Gwyneth-Paltrow-at-the-Oscars, now seems a good time to thank a few people who’ve supported, encouraged, and guided me. Marianne for nominating me, Jamie, Emma & Pete, Jo Brown, Kristian, Lizzie, Laura and the whole SNAP family, and all the other people who’ve helped me along the way. Check out the full list of Rangefinder’s 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography 2018 here. Here are the images I submitted:
Charlie and Chris drove for two hours to hang out in a car park with me.I reckon it was time well spent! Can you believe there are people who don’t even have a favourite car park?!
Leeds Pre-wedding at Church – Katie & Tom
Mostly I like to do pre-wedding sessions outside, especially when it’s sunny in Leeds, but bloody hell it was just too hot last week to be shooting outside!Fortunately my pals at former-church-now-nightclub, inventively named ‘Church’ (who I’ve been shooting a lot for ahead of their launch as Leeds’ most exciting new wedding venue!) let us escape the heat, and while different, I couldn’t be happier with the results!Katie & Tom are a dream to photograph and there’s nowhere I’d rather be this coming Wednesday than their wedding (not even Moscow).
A windy walk around the Cow & Calf rocks at Ilkley Moor is an excellent wedding hangover cure. That and a pint at the Cow & Calf pub over the road. All the greenery made an interesting change from my usual urban-industrial pre-wedding locations, always good to mix things up!Sonia & Sean were great company, really looking forward to shooting their wedding at the recently renovated Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey.
So, turns out Glossop is more than just the road from Buxton to Leeds! It’s actually really bloody lovely, especially in the sunshine. Stacey & Daniel were great fun to spend the afternoon with, met them at theirs and walked straight to the pub, down a seriously impressive hill. God knows how they get back up it after a few! Daniel’s commitment to ‘getting-in-the-bush’ was something to behold. Really looking forward to shooting their wedding at the Pavilion Gardens in my old hometown of Buxton next week!
Helen & Sam Leeds Pre-wedding session
Absolutely loved this one!! Leeds is SO MUCH FUN to photograph in when the sun’s out, so much yummy light bouncing around all over the place! Helen and Sam were great to shoot, really excited for their wedding now! Met them in a coffee shop (Laynes Espresso, seriously good!) then started out by getting high. Ten stories high on top of a carpark – always a quiet place to begin, up above the busy city streets. Then headed down under the train station – look out for the bonus bicycle – and out to the canal. Pro tip – walking backwards while taking photos right next to the canal is a really silly idea, just managed to catch myself but I really nearly dunked myself!
